REGISTERING FOR ENGLISH CLASSES IN TORONTO
 
If you are a Canadian resident, a citizen or a refugee claimant,  and if you require a high level of spoken English, you are welcome to join Toronto District School Board English-as-a-Second-Language  Classes, weekdays, evenings, or Saturdays.
 
Fee Information dated April 2005:
 
The registration fee is $25, which includes all lessons until the end of the term. You can go for placement testing and registration at 777 Bloor St W or 540 Jones Ave.  You can also find a class on your own and, in most cases, go there during class time to register. 
 
If you are a tourist or have a Working Holiday Visa, you need to pay the full fee. 
 
Terms are:
September - early December,
early December to late March, and
late March to last full week of June.
 
 
Canadian resident identification is required. 
 
Students may register any time during the year.  The last 3 weeks of a term are free, except for the July term.
 
Be better understood.
Feel more comfortable in English conversation.
Repair chronic errors if you wish to do so.
Learn idioms and vocabulary.

HOLIDAYS
 
There are no classes in  August or on public school holidays, including statutory holidays, Christmas/New Year (2 weeks) and March Break (1 week).

Don't forget, the changes to theTOEFL in September 2005 are BIG.  For example, the Test of Spoken English becomes part of the TOEFL.  So check the website www.toefl.org
